February Briefing Session
Community Tech Hub - February Workshop & Briefing to help protect you online and Weekly Drop In Sessions
The Grundisburgh Community Tech Hub is hosting their first workshop of 2025 at the Grundisburgh Village Hall on Friday 28th Feb 2025, 3-5 pm
This briefing session continues to help you stay safe online. At this event we will be covering Password Hygiene & Management i.e. keeping your passwords safe and secure, what is Multi-Factor Authentication and why it’s useful, and How to spot a scam either online or by email. We are very pleased to announce our guest speaker as: Inspector Jim Stevenson, Head of Cyber Security and Innovation for the East Cyber Resilience Centre.
Jim brings 21 years of policing experience to the Cyber Resilience Centre. His background Neighbourhood Policing means he has spent years working with the police’s partner agencies to tackle long term problems in a variety of community settings and has seen him work in many fields from collaborative project work, complex crime investigations, community problem solving and schools’ outreach.
Small doesn’t mean safe when it comes to online crime. Join Inspector Jim Stevenson whilst he explains why getting the basics right can drastically reduce your risk of being a victim of a cybercrime, and what free help is out there provided by the UK government, policing, and the cyber security industry to defend yourself against hackers and fraudsters.
At the event we will also have a chance to share personal stories of our experiences with online scams and being the victim of fraud. This really helps everyone to understand how they can become the victim of fraud, helping them prevent it from happening.
Join us on the 28th Feb, at 3pm in the Village Hall by booking a space online. Members are free. If you are not a member the session is £15.00 and can be paid for when booking via our website www.communitytechhub.org – you can also find more information about the benefits of becoming a member on the website.
